“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
It’s the beginning of a new year! Where has the time gone! I receive John
Maxwell’s Leadership email monthly. The last few months he has taken one word
and talked about it. Recently the word was “Risk”. He talked about taking risks
during our lifetime; some will be wise and others foolish. This reminded me about
the children’s song “the wise men built his house upon the rock and the foolish
man built his house upon the sand”. John Maxwell mentioned: Nothing ventured
nothing gained. How often do we not take risks? The children’s song reminds us
of keeping Christ’s foundation in our life to always rely on God and He will guide
us in the right direction.
Fruit grows on trees and the apple does not grow on the trunk of the tree it grows
out on the limb. We do not want to hug the trunk of the tree we need to take that
risk and climb out on the limb to receive the fruit. Quit hugging that trunk! Take
that risk and climb out on that limb. God will be with us as we try new adventures.
Always rely on Him! Remember the verse in the Bible from Philippians 4:13 that
says “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!” Of course He will
let us fail at times but He does this so we grow stronger in our faith. Trusting God
will help us in all that we do! Continue to take that risk and know that God is
guiding us along. Blessings to you during this New Year!
