Our district takes pride in the unique banners that represent convention themes, both at the district and national level. After each banner has been used at convention, they are offered to LWML zones to display at their Spring and Fall rallies before going to a permanent church or service organization within the district. Banners can double as blankets, quilts, and decor items, depending on where they are donated. Nursing homes, pregnancy resource centers, homeless shelters, and foster homes are potential recipients.
- On June 30 the LWML Michigan District presented a banner to All Nations Lutheran Church in Macomb, Michigan. The banner was designed and made by Tanya Zube and displayed at the 2023 LWML Convention in Milwaukee.
- The 2024 “Taste and See” banner from our last MI district convention in Grand Rapids will be displayed at the Best Practices Heartland Conference before being donated to Family of God Lutheran Church in Detroit, where they have an ongoing meal ministry.
- The 2025 “Growing in God’s Grace” banner from the national convention in Omaha was designed and made by Pat Reif and will be donated to a yet-to-be named recipient. Look for updates in an upcoming newsletter.
